Baptism in the Mediterranean ! ! ! :)

OHHHHHH I ALMOST FORGOT!!!

This beautiful friend was baptized this past week. What a special gift it was to help celebrate this special day!

I decided to make a little Video for her to remember the special day this was. With her delight & permission-she thought it was a wonderful idea to send to you in the hopes that you would also be encouraged. Wahoo!

A little bit of background for you: This friend lives in a city where over 99% of the citizens there are Muslim. While Turkey has biblical history, there is a strong tradition of the Muslim faith too. She is quite literally one of the few people known to surrender her life to Jesus in that City.

From spending lots of quality time with her last week, my friends & I came to understand that she faces quite a bit of ” negative judgement” & a bit of loneliness when it comes to her new faith in Jesus. This has been hard for her but she is learning how to still celebrate, even if she feels a bit lonely sometimes & continue to pursue those friendships-regardless of the differing opinions.

Though she grew up in a Muslim family, she expresses that she had an experience with Jesus around age 7 that eventually led her to seek out a church in her adult years, after being married & having a child. She believed that Jesus was always real-but has really gained a larger knowledge base on who Jesus is since she plugged into the Church family in Turkey.

She now has a church family that lives about 2 hours away, & currently, that is her main source of community. (We had an opportunity to visit that Church-it was an amazing time. To give you an idea of the size, my 5 friends & I, almost doubled the congregations numbers.) There we also met quite a few refugees from Syria…this was just so special to me!!!

Anyways, please keep this wonderful person in your prayers as shes grows in her faith & leads others to the love of Jesus Christ too. She specifically desires a Christian community of people desiring to seek God & learn more about who she is as a daughter of God. Yay!

Peace, gratitude, & so much Joy sent your way,

Kailey b.
